About Shyleigh: I have been part of the St. Mark’s community since 2010. I have been working in the early childhood environment for many years and I am a T.E.A.C.H. scholar recipient. I have been teaching Kindergarten at St. Mark’s since 2015 and I love teaching this grade! I enjoy watching the children grow and develop their independence and critical thinking skills; I am very excited about all of the discovery that is going to happen this year! I also enjoy music, reading, arts, Wildcat Basketball and Zumba.
About April: I am a Brain Builder with 10+ years of experience working with young people in libraries and schools. When my son came to St. Mark’s, I found myself drawn to this warm school community and began working as a substitute teacher. Now here I am back in Kindergarten! I also have Master’s degrees in Library Science and Russian from the University of Arizona (but being in Kindergarten is the most fun so far!). I am a native Tucsonan and I enjoy reading, sewing, creating, inventing and spending time with my family in the great outdoors.
